DYSTOPIAN FAIRYTALE
2024 A narrative collection about humanity’s dominance over nature, where nature regains its control and freedom. The collection takes motifs from carnivorus plants and flowers and merges nature with a genre of dystopian fashion. The narrative is told in three phases: industralization, blossoming, and regrowth. Through this collection, my goal is to convey a narrative of resilience and shift the idea of humanity’s relationship with nature; one where people recognize nature as a living entity rather than a resource for humans to exploit.

AT THE TABLE
2024Inspired by a mix of Chinese and American fashion silhouettes, the collection represents my favorite Chinese dishes and foods, while bridging the gap of my Chinese American identity. The collection represents a curation of menu food items which has corresponding hand-made materiality samples involving techniques like: crochet, knit, laser-cut, embroidery, and fabric manipulations.

CRACKING OPEN
2024
The collection is a reflection of my experiences with vulnerability and opening up. As a representation of vulnerability, an egg has a protective shell and a revealing soft interior. The collection portrays a narrative of an idividual exposing themselves through clothing: beginning with thick jackets that conceal the body and transfroming into light flowing dresses.

THE JOURNEY WE TAKE, THE MASKS WE WEAR
2023
The collection narrates the immigration story of Asians to America and the struggles of adapting to a new culture by masking their identities to assimilate. By blending cultural motifs with American silohuettes, the collection shows the two constrasting cultures through the lens of the immigrant.
